Club Garage is an informal series of social events held about every two to three months throughout the year. The events began when new village resident, Graham Stewart-Reed, decided that after a year in Littleham he wanted to thank those who had helped him settle into the community. Without enough space inside his home to cater for the numbers expected, Graham cleared his garage and the rest, as they say, is history - well, local history anyway!

Each event is usually held on a Saturday afternoon to evening with different hosts opening up their garage and garden to invited guests for any reason they like. Refreshments in the form of cask conditioned beer, other drinks plus appropriate food is accompanied by music, sometimes live, and usually an impromptu 'howl' from local singing group the Littleham Howlers. The host provides the majority of food and drink but contributions are usual and very welcomed.

These casual parties combine a mixture of invited friends, family and residents in an unusual setting and have been extremely well received and thoroughly enjoyed.

Garage chez Stewart-Reed - November, 2010 - Graham held the first Club Garage event at his home in Mount Pleasant, Littleham, inviting some 35 residents, friends and family with warm coats to the fore! The early November event was fortunately dry but bracing and everyone entered into the spirit of the afternoon and evening enjoying the drinks and food via the host, friend Lizzie and local contributors.

Garage chez Sellers - February, 2011 - At Farthings, near Crossways, Littleham, host Dave's Club Garage event in mid February was blessed with good weather so much of it was held in his garden. Having just returned from Australia, Dave put on a 'barbie' with the help of sister Lynda and her daughter Gemma plus local contributors. An outside fire helped keep everyone warm and singing soon developed via the Littleham Howlers and a certain amount of liquid refreshment!

Garage chez Hogan - 11th June 2011 - Another 'Club' event blessed with good weather for hosts with the mostest, David and Pam, ably supported by niece Jools, friends and guests. David managed the outdoor cooking superbly with help from the home kitchen and helpers, and many guests brought along more food and drink for the 30-plus attending. Singing naturally developed as the host's cask ale and other refreshments took hold, with Sophie and Mat (see picture below) adding to the Littleham Howler's vocal efforts. A fine afternoon and evening was had by all and 'chez Hogan' continued the growth of the reputation of this unique event.

Garage chez Williams - 13th August, 2011 - A record 50 guests attended Rob and Sue's event with a packed garage and outside cover helping as some rain did blow in. Howling and live music plus BBQ work by Dave and Trevor kept everyone warmed up well into the evening. Bernard helped at the bar and the regular barrel of beer was despatched along with much wine. Another classic event and many thanks to Rob and Sue and all the guests that brought food, drink and entertainement too.

Garage chez Levick/Reeve, 8th October, 2011 - Held at two venues, this event in early October also introduced a fish and chip van to add a little novelty to the food on offer. More than 50 attendees enjoyed Andrew and Peter's hospitality and many brought food and drink to add to the usual beer offering. Singing, including the Howlers, Sophie and Renata with some Brazilian songs added to the atmosphere and a good time was had by all.

Garage chez Graham SR/ Graham C, 12th November, 2011 - This first anniversary event included neighbour Steve and his on-going rebuild of his house located between the two Grahams. After a start at Graham SR's garage with drinks and snacks, everyone moved into Steve's for the main courses cooked by Graham C plus contributions from many others...very good too. Steve's fire and a full-sized juke box added to the atmosphere and marked the first anniversary in style.

Garage chez Marilyn and Dave Peterson, 31st December, 2011 - The last event of 2011 and a great New Year's celebrational night in their house and barn - garage. The amount of food was boosted by a special pork roast and chicken on a BBQ plus lots more from the hosts and everyone who attended. Drinks, of course, flowed, the Howlers sang and a great night was had by the 40 plus attending to bring in the New Year.
